Northmont Academic Challenge Tournament (1/17/15)

Northmont High School will be hosting our annual OAC format tournament on Saturday, January 17th in Clayton, Ohio. This event annually draws 40 teams competing in either varsity or JV. The set will again be a house-written, pyramidal OAC set that has been praised in the past for its high quality and will mirror a typical OAC regionals set to the greatest extent possible. The writing team will be myself and Sam Blizzard, with occasional contributions from other Northmont students. Northmont will not field a team in the event, but will host and moderate.

Note: This event will be mirrored in the NE at Warren G. Harding High School on the same date.

Cost:
$60 for your first team
$50 for each additional team (no limit)
$10 discount for each working buzzer system (limit one buzzer discount per team you bring)
$10 discount for an experienced moderator (let me know if you are claiming this discount)

Teams will be split into preliminary divisions of 6, with the winner of each qualifying to OAC regionals. Division winners will play an additional round robin in the afternoon to determine the tournament champion, while teams who do not win their division will be grouped together in the afternoon for additional consolation matches. All teams are guaranteed at least 8 matches, some will play 10.

Registrations have come in pretty quickly since we got back from break. Will likely cap the field when we get to a good multiple of 6 in both the varsity and JV. Let me know if you haven't registered but would like to attend!!
