Final Countdown Invitational @ Miami Valley (Dayton): 4.2.16
Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2016 4:39 pmThe Miami Valley School quiz bowl team cordially invites you to the first iteration of the Final Countdown Invitational on April 2nd, 2016. We plan to run a high school and middle school division with each team guaranteed eight rounds. The initial field cap for each division will be 12 teams, but we will try to open that up if we have enough moderators and we can secure enough space on our small campus. The high school division will play the BASQT set from Bergen County Academies and the middle school division will play the PLATO I set from SAGES. Both sets should provide excellent preparation for NAQT States as well as the various national tournaments!
Payment can be made to The Miami Valley School (put "Academic Challenge" in the memo). Our address is 5151 Denise Dr, Dayton, OH 45429.
Registration will be from 8:00 A.M. until 8:30 A.M., followed by a brief meeting for coaches and players. We expect to begin play promptly at 9:00 A.M.
FEES:
First Team: $55
Each Additional Team: $45
BUZZER DISCOUNT: -$5 per buzzer system, limit one per team that you are bringing.
READER DISCOUNT: -$10 for a competent moderator, limit one per team that you are bringing.
TRAVEL DISCOUNT: There is a $10 discount for teams traveling over 100 miles one way (our zip is 45429).
MINIMUM Fee: $35
For lunch, we will offer cheese and pepperoni pizza for $10/pie. There is a dearth of convenient dining options around MVS, so please plan on staying on-site.
